Wonderful Story: Kushi Ram

My heart was touched by the story of this humble family... from all the way on the other side of the world. Our God is in control.

"Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble." 1 Pet 5:5

FROM whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God.
-James 4:1-4

A great Thursday morning. God woke me up with a sense of purpose, not like the past couple of mornings. I had the time and energy to make my bed and fold my blanket as neatly as possible (that's always a good sign). :)

Then, not knowing what to read from my Bible lead me to James 4.

Do i love the world? I know i love cameras... i know i love fast cars. Sometimes that's all i think about to motivate me to finish school this semester. I said, "Andrey if you're done with the semester you can finally get a new car and drive it to work." I've always wanted to get a BMW 3 series or a fast 1 series. Or the alternative would be to keep my old car and finally be able to get the 'camera gears' that i've always wanted.

Oh Lord, please forgive my fleshly desires. Please help me to renew my commitment to You today.

(Something i can meditate upon as i go through my day)

"Her sins have reached unto heaven, and God hath remembered her iniquities... In the cup which she hat filled fill to her double. How much she hat glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow. Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. And her kings of the earth, who have comitted fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, ...saying, Alas, alas that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour thy judgment come." Revelation 18:5-10

Great Controversy: Desolation of the Earth
"The rich prided themselves upon their superiority to those who were less favored; but they had obtained their riches by violation of the law of God. They had neglected to feed the hungry, to clothe the naked, to deal justly, and to love mercy. They had sought to exalt themselves and to obtain the homage of their fellow creatures. Now they are stripped of all that made them great and are left destitute and defenseless. They look with terror upon the destruction of the idols which they preferred before their Maker. They have sold their souls for earthly riches and enjoyments, and have not sought to become rich toward God. The result is, their lives are a failure; their pleasures are now turned to gall, their treasures to corruption. The gain of a lifetime is swept away in a moment. The rich bemoan the destruction of their grand houses, the scattering of their gold and silver. But their lamentations are silenced by the fear that they temselves are to perish with their idols." (Ellen White GC p. 654)

"A noise shall come even to the ends of the earth; for the LORD hath a controversy with the nations, He will plead with all flesh; He will give them that are wicked to the sword, saith the LORD"

Proverbs 20 for Today

1 Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.
2 The fear of a king is as the roaring of a lion: whoso provoketh him to anger sinneth against his own soul.
3 It is an honour for a man to cease from strife: but every fool will be meddling.
4 The sluggard will not plow by reason of the cold; therefore shall he beg in harvest, and have nothing.
5 Counsel in the heart of man is like deep water; but a man of understanding will draw it out.
6 Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?
7 The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him.
8 A king that sitteth in the throne of judgment scattereth away all evil with his eyes.
9 Who can say, I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?
10 Divers weights, and divers measures, both of them are alike abomination to the LORD.
11 Even a child is known by his doings, whether his work be pure, and whether it be right.
12 The hearing ear, and the seeing eye, the LORD hath made even both of them.
13 Love not sleep, lest thou come to poverty; open thine eyes, and thou shalt be satisfied with bread.
14 It is naught, it is naught, saith the buyer: but when he is gone his way, then he boasteth.
15 There is gold, and a multitude of rubies: but the lips of knowledge are a precious jewel.
16 Take his garment that is surety for a stranger: and take a pledge of him for a strange woman.
17 Bread of deceit is sweet to a man; but afterwards his mouth shall be filled with gravel.
18 Every purpose is established by counsel: and with good advice make war.
19 He that goeth about as a talebearer revealeth secrets: therefore meddle not with him that flattereth with his lips.
20 Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness.
21 An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.
22 Say not thou, I will recompense evil; but wait on the LORD, and he shall save thee.
23 Divers weights are an abomination unto the LORD; and a false balance is not good.
24 Man's goings are of the LORD; how can a man then understand his own way?
25 It is a snare to the man who devoureth that which is holy, and after vows to make enquiry.
26 A wise king scattereth the wicked, and bringeth the wheel over them.
27 The spirit of man is the candle of the LORD, searching all the inward parts of the belly.
28 Mercy and truth preserve the king: and his throne is upholden by mercy.
29 The glory of young men is their strength: and the beauty of old men is the gray head.
30 The blueness of a wound cleanseth away evil: so do stripes the inward parts of the belly.

An House of Prayer for All People

So driving around school has been tricky this week. A lot of slipping and sliding (equals to a lot of fun. hehhe). But i'm glad it's friday, and sabbath is at hand. Hopefully i can get a true rest from this weekend and regain my health completely.

It's snowing hard outside and the day is getting dark very quick. I'm sitting in the kitchen area with my computer on our small dining table. It's my favorite spot in the house, because i can always wind down and listen to my favorite songs with my headphones, see facebook pictures, write on this blog and take notice at what's happening outside whenever i need inspiration. The sunrise, the sunset, the changing of leaves back in October, and now watch the snow fall. All "The Beauties of The Earth" outside my small window. At the same time my feet are kept warm thanks to the new portable heater from walmart. :)

"Thus saith the LORD, Keep ye judgment, and do justice: for my salvation is near to come, and my righteousness to be revealed. Blessed is the man that doeth this, and the son of man that layeth hold on it; that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and keepeth his hand from doing any evil.

Also the sons of the stranger, that join themselves to the LORD, to serve Him, and to love the name of the LORD, to be his servants, every one that keepeth the sabbath from polluting it, and taketh hold of my covenant; Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people."
Isaiah 56:1,2 & 6,7

All pictures were taken today... :)

I remember a couple of nights ago my roommate John came up to me and said,
"I'll be right back, going to knock off some icicles around the house." at the time we really had some gigantic ones hanging around the house. hahha.

Today was nice & sunny

Could you tell what's so special about her car?

...steering wheel on the 'wrong side' =P

So i came back from break and found this... My garlic was growing in the fridge.
I thought it was real freaky. Wouldn't you agree?

My favorite spot in the house
