Every Season

"When I look at the night sky and see the work of your fingers-- the moon and the stars you have set in place--what are mortals that you should think of us, mere humans that you should care for us?"
Psalm 8:3-4

"I will offer thanks for what has been and what's to come, You are Autumn..."

Whiter than the Snow

I get off work at 11.30, reach the car 11.40, get to the front door 12.00, ready for bed 12.05. All sound nice and well, but sometimes, it's so hard for me to fall asleep right away. Maybe it's the drive home that makes me still fully awake, or maybe this computer i'm typing with. hehhe. Since i'm up, why not share a little story.

So last Sabbath i was supposed to sing for a special number after Sabbath school. But somehow I timed my coming wrong (i came in late) because unlike other churches, Sabbath school at the Filipino church started at 9.30 not 10 o'clock. So i was greeted at the front door by the ever-so-forgiving Auntie Amy that kindly asked, "Oh, Andrey, where were you? I was looking for you." So she said she'll check her schedule and put me in again next time (here's the link to the original song. i bought the same track :)

.........

You and I know that Jesus had paid the price, that we were purchased by His blood. But often times I still feel shameful of my own life. Taking on His cross, He never said it'll be an easy sail. But Jesus said help will come in time of need.

"Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is to your advantage that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send Him unto you.
And when He is come, He will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment."
John 16:7,8

Here's the song of the month for me, "Whiter than Snow."
The lyrics goes...

Whiter than the snow
Purer than the clearest stream
Wash me and i'll be bathed in purity
I long to feel clean

A robe of righteousness
A robe that I could not afford
My LORD you paid the price
Your perfect sacrifice
Has covered up my shame

And so I thank you Jesus...

.........

Some days i get discouraged of wanting to share my faith to others. If I still struggle with my own sin everyday, how do I expect to ask others to join me in this faith. But Jesus wants us to claim the Holy Spirit to guide us through this journey. To wash our robes daily with His blood, and "approach His throne of Grace boldly", to once again catch a breath in the atmosphere of heaven. So I thank you Jesus... He is my song.

I Thessalonians 5

"Now we urge you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men." (v. 14)

.......

"Rejoice evermore.
Pray without ceasing.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Quench not the Spirit
Despise not prophesyings
Prove all things, hold fast that which is good." (v. 16-21)

.......

"I charge you by the Lord that this epistle be read unto all the holy brethren." (v. 27)

Go Ye therefore and Teach

Are you sometimes like me, forgetting that we are the light of the world? A city set on a hill, that cannot be hid? (Matt 5:14) Reading towards the last pages of Psalms this morning, King David asks the Lord: "Deliver me out of great waters, from the hand of strange children; whose mouth speaketh vanity, and their right hand is a right hand of falsehood." Psalms 144:7,8

I'm so glad that one of my co-workers/trainer keeps asking me about the Sabbath. I mentioned it to her during my interview for possible arrangements. I hope to share more of just how good the Lord has been to me.

God places us in our respective places to be a light for Him, a small beacon unto this dark-fallen world; for the world to know His truth. Cause we're not going to school just to get our Bachelor or Doctorate degree; working just to put bread on the table and pay the bills; have friends just so we have someone to talk to. God longs to work through us to do great things. The Holy Spirit is promised for moments like this, to win souls for Him. "The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few." Luke 10:2

"Yea, happy is that people, whose God is the LORD." Psalms 144:15

Philippians

"Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of His good pleasure."
Philippians 2:12,13

Steps to Christ

Yesterday as I was about to leave the house for work, Pastor B teased me, "Oh, you have to go to work huh? ..can't just relax all day like before." The thought came to mind [after the fall], women must experience much pain during conception and men must work hard to make a living. So I said to him, "Because of one man, Pastor.. we must work hard." :)

"In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it was thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return." Genesis 3:19

But the price had been paid. It was paid in full by the second Adam, Immanuel (God with us), Michael (who is like unto God?), Jeshua, Jesus.

"If you give yourself to Him, and accept Him as your Saviour, then, sinful as your life may have been, for His sake you are accounted righteous. Christ’s character stands in place of your character, and you are accepted before God just as if you had not sinned." SC 62.2

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned." Romans 5:12

"Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation; even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life." verse 18

Teach me

Just got home from work. First week into PM shift, and I'm learning a lot about this Med Tech profession. Learning a lot on paying back federal loans today. Learning a lot on being an independent adult. I'm learning as I go. :)

What verse to share with friends tonight...

"Teach me Thy way, O LORD; I will walk in Thy truth: unite my heart to fear Thy name.
I will praise Thee, O Lord my God, with all my heart: and I will glorify Thy name for evermore.
For great is Thy mercy toward me: and Thou hast delivered my soul from the lowest hell."
~Psalms 86:11-13
